Robert Polidori recently shot Bottega Veneta's Fall-Winter 2011/2012 Campaign.
Location: Palazzo Papadopoli, Venice
Robert Polidori works with a custom-built large-format camera to take pictures filled with voluminous, voluptuous detail. The world-renowned photographer, whose career began when he photographed the restoration of Versailles, has explored subjects including Castro’s Havana and New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Polidori brought his unique focus to the extraordinary detail and construction of the Fall-Winter 2011/2012 collection, shot in Venice in the 16th-century Palazzo Papadopoli. “What is unusual about Robert’s work is that it both documents and interrogates,” says Tomas Maier. “His attention to detail creates layers of meaning that extend beyond the formal beauty of his images.”
